We are very happy to present to you, on the Net, the 2nd
Edition of Kelkar
Kulvruttanta, a Genealogical account of Kelkar’s.
We can proudly say that, to the best of our knowledge, this happens to be one of the early Genealogical Studies of an Indian Family with the same surname, to be put on Internet. We also believe that this probably is the first ever study of its kind on the NET, in an Indian language.
A genealogical study of a family is but one
chapter in the history of the country it comes from & history is important,
not only for the events to be proud of, but also for those to be sorry for. It
is important for us to know what our forefathers were, but equally important
for us, to hand down to the generations to come, information about their
forefathers. That is why, 41 years
after the first edition ( published in 1952 ) Bhaskar S. Kelkar, Govind R.
Kelkar and Yashwant S. Kelkar, undertook the work of 2nd
edition.And now
almost 10 years after the publication of its printed edition,( in 1993 ) we are
coming to you, in this modern form of communication, to reach you wherever you
are, all around the world
We are presenting this account to you, not just for your information, but also with a hope, that you will come back to us with an updated account of your own branch of the Kelkars (Or a fresh account, if you are not already in the book) and also pass on this message to others, in case they miss out on it. Your criticism on our efforts and suggestions for any improvements, are most welcome.
